MBSR is a course that relies on daily practice, in which we cultivate awareness of ourselves, and of things "as they are." 
This awareness grows from the inside out, relying on guidance, at first, but not on outside authority...
 

NOTE:
All reading is optional; it is your daily practice of awareness of breathing, body scanning,
mindful yoga, meditation; and other practices you will learn, that will lead to
the unique and deep benefits available from this course
